From a young age, Shannon Ryan's passion for helping others was ignited by the shortage of allied health professionals in the rural area where she grew up. With a deep desire to make a difference, Shannon discovered the field of speech pathology and knew it was her calling. Shannon embarked on a journey to pursue this rewarding career.
In 2017, Shannon successfully completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology, laying the foundation for her expertise in the field. Throughout her career, Shannon has gained valuable experience working in private practice and in the early intervention space. Shannon's dedication lies in supporting individuals of all ages, from young children to teenagers and young adults, in developing a wide range of speech and language skills.
Shannon's areas of expertise encompass various aspects of communication development. Shannon excels in facilitating functional communication skills, implementing alternative and augmentative communication supports, fostering language acquisition, refining speech sounds and articulation, addressing swallowing issues, enhancing play skills, promoting social communication, nurturing literacy skills, and supporting fluency (stuttering).
Moreover, Shannon holds a special interest in supporting the communication development of individuals on the Autism spectrum, those with intellectual impairments, and individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Their commitment to providing inclusive and culturally sensitive care shines through in their practice.
